SoulScript Bible is a spiritual companion application that uses advanced AI (Gemini 3 Pro) to analyze your emotional state and suggest relevant Bible verses with accompanying homilies. The service provides:

Private journal storage (locally on your device)

2. User Responsibilities

2.1 Appropriate Use

You agree to use SoulScript Bible for personal spiritual reflection and guidance only. You must not:

Use the service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
Attempt to reverse engineer or extract the AI models or prompts
Share your account credentials with others
Submit offensive, hateful, or inappropriate content

2.2 Content Submission

When you submit text or voice input, you represent that:

You understand that submissions are processed by Google's Gemini API

Important Notice: SoulScript Bible is NOT an official application of YouVersion (Life.Church), the organization behind Bible.com.

Links to Bible.com are provided solely for user convenience to:

Access full scripture context (entire chapters)
Compare multiple Bible translations

5. Subscription Plans and Payment

5.1 Free Plan

Free users receive:

5 AI analysis requests (lifetime total)
All features included: voice input, Bible.com links, journal storage, homily generation

5.2 Pro Plan ($4.99/month)

Pro subscribers receive:

Unlimited AI analysis requests
All features included (same as Free plan)

💡 Key Difference: Free and Pro plans have identical features. The only difference is the number of AI analysis requests: Free users get 5 total (lifetime), while Pro users get unlimited access.

5.3 Payment Processing and Billing

All payments are processed securely through Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. By subscribing, you agree to:

Stripe's Terms of Service
Automatic monthly billing on your subscription anniversary date
Providing accurate payment information

Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew each month unless canceled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You can cancel anytime through Settings → Manage Subscription.

5.4 Refund Policy

Due to the digital nature of our service, refunds are generally not available. However, we will consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis if:

You experience persistent technical issues that prevent service access
You were charged in error
The service fails to deliver core features as described

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

SoulScript Bible is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated content
We are NOT liable for any spiritual, emotional, psychological, or financial outcomes resulting from use of the service
We are NOT responsible for decisions made based on AI-generated spiritual guidance
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the past 12 months

8. Service Modifications and Termination

We reserve the right to, at any time and without prior notice:

Modify or discontinue the service (or any part thereof)
Change subscription pricing (with 30 days advance notice for existing subscribers)
Terminate or suspend accounts that violate these Terms
Update features, functionality, or AI models
Impose new limits or restrictions on service usage

We are not liable for any losses resulting from service modifications or termination.

9. Third-Party Services and APIs

9.1 Google Gemini API

SoulScript Bible uses Google's Gemini 3 Pro API for AI-powered analysis. By using our service, you also agree to:

9.2 Google OAuth (Gmail Authentication)

We use Gmail OAuth 2.0 for secure authentication. By signing in, you grant us permission to access your:

We do NOT access your emails, contacts, or other Gmail data.

9.3 Stripe Payment Processing

Payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc. By subscribing, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service. We NEVER see your full credit card details—Stripe handles all payment information securely.

10. User Conduct and Prohibited Activities

You agree NOT to:

Use the service for commercial purposes without authorization
Automate access to the service (bots, scrapers, etc.)
Overload or disrupt our servers or infrastructure
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
Share or distribute content generated by the service for commercial gain
Impersonate others or create fake accounts

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the service shall be resolved through:

Good faith negotiation between you and us (30 days)

What's stored locally on YOUR device:

Custom Gemini API key (if provided)
Developer mode status (if applicable)

How to delete: Clear your browser's LocalStorage, use the in-app "Delete All Data" button, or clear browser cache/cookies.

3.2 Our Servers (Vercel)

What's stored on our servers:

Gmail email address (for authentication)
Subscription status (Free or Pro)
Stripe customer ID (for billing)
Total usage count (to enforce 5-request limit for free users)
Developer mode authentication tokens (if applicable)
